Redipor Tryptic Soy Broth (TSB) and Thioglycollate (Thio) media from Cherwell Laboratories
Redipor prepared media was used and referenced in the paper titled ‘Use of the BacT/ALERT® System for Rapid Detection of Microbial Contamination in a Pilot Study using Pancreatic Islet Cell Products Samples taken for sterility testing’ from L Murray, N McGowan, J Fleming featured in the Journal of Clinical Microbiology.
Here is an abstract from the article:
At the SNBTS Islet Isolation Laboratory manual sterility testing data shows that contamination rates are 57.7% for pancreas transport fluid, 4.3% for post - purification islet samples and 0% for pre -transplant islet samples. This pilot study presents the BacT/Alert® System as an alternative to manual testing, to give more rapid and sensitive sterility results for islet cell products.
The Journal of Clinical Microbiology® (JCM) publishes the most current research related to the laboratory diagnosis of human and animal infections and the role of the laboratory in both the management of infectious diseases and the elucidation of the epidemiology of infections.
